So what's going on is my machine is not recognizing any commercial DVD videos. I'm thinking 10.0.8 is somehow incompatible with 10.6.7 which is mighty convenient now that they have ANOTHER paid upgrade. I guess I will just get that 30 dollar lite on cd rw drive. navigate to this website getting error message...
Also, I tried burning at 1x, and I get the same error. It wont burn cd's at all. Then open Disk Utility, drag the ISO image into the window on the left of Disk Utility's main window, and click Burn. it listed nothing and the same was true trying to run dd on it again but i was able to get this after attempting to play the disk in VLC Code:
I cannot agree that Toast 10.0.8 won't burn DL discs with OS 10.6.7. I've begrudgingly paid for almost every upgrade since version 6 but this might be the straw that breaks the camels back. Hopefully they have the same expectation. I might as well but a DVD burner in there.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. Darn odd though. Note: Please send bug reports or support requests to http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla Note: The author of cdrecord should not be bothered with problems in this version. http://onlivetalk.com/sense-key/sense-key-hardware-error-sense-code-0x09-0x01.php Unless it's on a separate Software Restore DVD.
You say Toast never touched the the discs but you received an Illegal Request burning the discs with Toast. If your Mac came with one or two DVDs, look for AHT on the first (OS X Install) DVD. Also, do you have OS X set to ask you what to do when a blank DVD is inserted? Most of the burning software can do so though.
