unfortunatelly, i don't see any way to power on my television through the slingbox. Although Cox claims to be "your digital experts" clearly they are anything but. however, when you call Cox with a problem they can't even come close to solving it, so I'd rather call someone who did (in this case, Scientific Atlanta, since they have It only shows component video information. TWO "fried" HDMI cable cords.

Any combination of the above two tvs and two Directv Boxes work, or don't work the same. So it impossible to provide a review specific to the 8300HD DVR without commenting on the only cable provider, Cox, in my area. After a while the Comcast DVR freezes and will not work till the box has been unplugged and the power is off for a minute and then repower the system. the level of compliants they are getting. i have a sony tv. If not...I have a SA box that doesn't like my Samsung TV but when I connect it through my Onkyo receiver it works fine.You may never get this combination to work
