Sbs 2003 Backup Fails No Error

The answer in my case was to add my userid to Backup Operators, and it worked fine. Anything in the 30-50 gb mostly fails. I ran command: "vssadmin create shadow" and a shadow copy of the C: drive was created successfully. I ran an SBS 2003 for 5 years and the backups were great. I have developed a VBS script that mounts network volumes and loggs everythin including ntbackuplogg and upload it to a central database.

Ntbackup is a time-eating monster to try to figure out what went wrong. Recently (2 years ago) is set up 20-30 brand new servers that backed up to a 20TB linux volume. If you've exhausted everything else, don't forget to take a look at your network infrasturcture. I was running 3gig of ram.

They are highly useful for migrations and disaster recovery. Oh, and here are the two errors that I found in the application log. Also, if you have a managed switch, check the switch to see if it is logging hardware errors on the port. Not the answer you're looking for?

Apparently the disruption of the one NIC was also causing a driver reset or something to also occur on the backup network's NIC even though that port was working fine. Confession: I still don't know what causes this.
