I can't recomment Oracle to clients after this crap. First, check the exact case of the instance specified in TNSNAMES.ORA and the PATH option in SAS libname, I've often seen that to cause the unexpected troubles. After hours of work, I can finally tnsping and sqlplus connect but no ODBC connection. Now I have two entries in the tnsnames.ora file under the Oracle 10g Admin folder. Is it not time to clarify the situation by means of an extended trouble shooting page.

You can not post a blank message. But if customers choose to # install "Software Only", this file wont exist and without the native # authentication, they will not be able to connect to the database on NT. I would check your PC's TNSNAMES.ORA Oracle config file to see if your path LAPROD is defined in there. Please type your message and try again.
