It worked easily and now the camera is fine. Wish I found your website earlier. I grasped and twisted the larger lens barrel while powering off and pushed in a bit and it retracted and I am back in business. Canon should be ashamed of their product, this is a defect with so many people who go through it.

All it took was an extremely gentle rotation of the lens.
